Persons With Disabilities - Income Assistance Rates

  • All rates are monthly.
  • Shelter rates are based on the number of people in a family.
  • In addition to income assistance, low-income families can benefit from a variety of programs offered by both the provincial and federal governments including: Medical Service Plan and PharmaCare coverage, Christmas and School Start-Up Supplements, B.C. Sales Tax Credit, basic dental and optical coverage, GST Credit, National Child Benefit Supplement and the $100 monthly Universal Child Care Benefit for children under six.

Notes:

  • Shelter increments continue to increase by an additional $35 for each additional dependant after unit size seven.
  • Disability assistance is paid in the month following designation. In cases where designation occurs prior to the individual's 18th birthday, payments begin in the month of the 18th birthday.
