PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES - INCOME ASSISTANCE RATES
- Shelter rates are based on the number of people in a family.
- In addition to the income assistance, low- income families can benefit from a variety of programs offered by both the provincial and federal governments including: Medical Service Plan and PharmaCare coverage, Christmas and School Start-Up Supplements, B.C. Sales Tax Credit, Basic dental and optical coverage, the GST Credit, National Child Benefit Supplement and the $100 monthly Universal Child Care Benefit for children under six.

- Disability assistance is paid in the month following designation. In cases where designation occurs prior to the individual's 18th birthday, payments begin in the month of the 18th birthday.
