Senior’s Supplement
- The Senior's Supplement is a provincial monthly payment provided by the Ministry of Housing and Social Development to seniors whose total income from federal pensions or other earned income falls below a level guaranteed by the province.
- Effective October 2005, seniors receiving federal Old Age Security (OAS) and the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) are eligible for all or a part of the Senior's Supplement, depending on their total income.
- The maximum monthly supplement amounts are $49.30 for single seniors and $120.50 for senior couples
- Recipients of the Senior's Supplement also continue to receive any OAS and GIS increases from the federal government.
- The Senior's Supplement is paid automatically to eligible recipients. Seniors do not have to apply.
