COMMUNITY LIVING BC - PAYMENTS FOR CLIENTS

• Effective June 1, 2007, the Ministry of Employment and Income Assistance will standardize payments it makes for all income assistance clients residing in Community Living BC facilities.
• All income assistance clients residing in Community Living BC facilities will receive the maximum monthly Persons with Disabilities rate of $906 per month.
• From the $906 monthly Persons with Disabilities rate, Community Living BC facilities will receive $716 towards the client's shelter and support costs, leaving the client with $190 for personal expenses.
• No income assistance clients will have their personal expense allowance reduced as a result of the standardized payments.
• There are approximately 5,000 adults residing in Community Living BC residential care facilities who receive Persons with Disabilities assistance from the Ministry of Employment and Income Assistance.
