Community Living BC - Payment for Clients
- Effective June 1, 2007, the Ministry of Social Development will standardize payments it makes for all income assistance clients residing in Community Living BC facilities.
- All income assistance clients residing in Community Living BC facilities now receive the maximum monthly Persons with Disabilities rate of $906 per month.
- From the $906 monthly Persons with Disabilities rate, Community Living BC facilities now receive $716 towards the client's shelter and support costs, leaving the client with $190 for personal expenses.
- No income assistance clients had their personal expense allowance reduced as a result of the standardized payments.
- There are approximately 5,000 adults residing in Community Living BC residential care facilities who receive Persons with Disabilities assistance from the Ministry of Social Development.
